'Mission' Accomplished In Dubai: Tom Cruise Edition

By Joel Hanek MTV News reporter Josh Horowitz and producer Joel Hanek are presently in Dubai since the world premiere of "Jason Bourne: Ghost Protocol." They are their tales. If you have been following a adventures of MTV News' own reporter Josh Horowitz and that i now on Movies Blog, you will know we have traveled completely to Dubai for that world premiere of "Jason Bourne: Ghost Protocol." And let us just say, at this time we're sitting on a plane company having a banner behind us that reads: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. OK, that reference is neither timely, accurate, nor funny, so let us move ahead. Things I learned throughout the trip: 1) Scrambled eggs in the centre East are orange. Crazy, right? 2) Simon Pegg is much more amusing than I figured. 3) Tom Cruise is most likely the best guy in the world. After going through the sights of Dubai also known as the center East's Large and Tall Shop, because it has either the greatest or highest everything i was ready for the interviews. Only ft from the beach along with the imposing Burj Al Arab coming, the heavens of "MI:4" were taken into our junket room 1 by 1. Even though they had all been traveling around Asia within the last couple of days, everybody is at great spirits. Director Kaira Bird, the genius behind Pixar movies like "The Incredibles," referred to your brain-coming climbing moments on the top from the Burj Khalifa Anil Kapoor was oddly hypnotic and inspiring Paula Patton was very charming and insanely beautiful and Simon Pegg, among my own geek heroes, were built with a very nerdy and amusing conversation with Josh. Finally, Tom Cruise joined the area. For somebody who defines the term "celebrity," he certainly functions just like a normal human. He showed up within the room all smiles, greeting each and every person. Then you definitely hear that legendary laugh, and you are reminded from the numerous classics and blockbusters you've viewed him in through the years. It had been certainly strange seeing Cruise in Dubai without the assistance of an IMAX theater. After you have the interior scoop on "Jason Bourne," finding some juicy "Top Gun 2" news, and shooting an approaching After Hrs, the job interview ended. One costume change and half an hour later, we showed up in the red-colored carpet for that eighth Annual Dubai Worldwide Film Festival. The show began with (cure?) Tom Cruise striking carpeting. Everyone else went right into a craze, and between chants of his title and camera flashes, Mr. Cruise paused at each person. This isn't hyperbole: he required his time for you to meet each and every individual who showed up in the red-colored carpet. As Josh tweeted, "I believe I simply viewed Tom Cruise autograph something for each citizen of Dubai." And also to think he is doing this in just about every city they visit. For this reason he's the best guy in the world. Him, and my grandmother. And perhaps Santa.
